I've also finally finished both Dollhouse and Leverage. Dollhouse was alright, but it should have gotten more seasons and more could have been done with it.

Leverage: Parker and Hardison are perfect, beyond perfect, perfect and perfect with issues and perfect and wonderful and I love every moment of their interaction and I just want them to live happily ever after, but only in a little while and maybe not ever during the series because they need time, Parker needs time and he's there for her and "I got you, girl" PERFECT!

Some of you might be tired of reading this because you've seen it on my tumblr and such, but I STILL felt the need to write it here too!

So, yesterday, I'd gone to the cinema to see Avengers Assemble (spoilery review behind the cut) and I was going to take a train to Cathays from Cardiff Central. I walked and I saw this guy in a grey jacket with his back turned to me and he was insanely tall and his hair was kind of that brown, blond shaggy do that Rupert Young has. My brain automatically went: nooooooooooo, no way, there's no way that's him, my life is not that awesome. So, I just looked at the announcement boards to figure out when my train was, I turned back to look at him and all of a sudden RUPERT YOUNG WAS WALKING IN MY DIRECTION TO PASS ME!

*hyperventilates at the memory*

So I sort of went 'excuse me, are you rupert...? Leon from Merlin?' and he went 'yes,' and he sort of starting smiling at that point, because I don't think he'd been expecting that and then I said 'I really appreciate your work, I love Leon, looking forward to next series, etc.' and he was really, really nice and friendly! He asked me where I was from, why I was in Cardiff and THEN HE SHOOK MY HAND! He totally iniatiated the hand-shaking! And I was too nervous to look him in the eyes, so I saw his hand moving and I was "omg, is he going to shake my hand?" and then he did, and then I died.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! He was so gorgeous and kind and really sweet and so freaking effing tall and that's just awesome! I love tall dudes! Shit! Leon's my favourite knight and I FUCKING JUST MET THE ACTOR WHO PLAYS HIM!!! Jeezes fuck!

A while later I saw him talking with Angel Coulby and Adetomiwa Edun, but I didn't want to seem like a crazy, stalking fan so I didn't interrupt them to say that I totally appreciate their work too! It makes me a bit sad that I didn't speak to them also, BUT HOLY SHIT RUPERT YOUNG *dies*

So, I have a tumblr now. For people who are interested, here's the link.

I really love tumblr. I really do. It's full of awesome fandom stuff; it's gotten me in a few things I never would have gotten into if I hadn't. It allows me to squee and go nuts in a way that Livejournal doesn't, because I tend to use livejournal mostly for fics and writing reaction posts tends to tire me... which is why they've gotten less eloquent and extensive as time went on. It also raises awareness very quickly for a lot of things, I feel. I've never come across more quotes and interesting debates concerning feminism, racism, misogynism, multiculturalism, etc.

BUT

It makes me never want to leave my flat again. Because the world is a horrible, horrible place filled with horrible, horrible things. It makes me feel like there's nothing out there worth watching or reading or doing because it's either racist, misogynist, elitist or some kind of -ist and I know that some of the stuff I like is problematic in terms of gender and racial dynamics and stuff, and it makes me feel guilty and sick inside. Tumblr basically makes me feel guilty for being white and afraid for being a woman because it's making me even more aware that every time I leave my house I can get raped or assaulted and that every time I engage in a conversation with someone, I could end up being stalked or that any time I end up in a relationship with someone I could end up being abused (although to be fair that last one is more a remnant of my childhood and my parents' relationship an my father being a rejecting asshole wanker butt-face).

It's just .... I've always been aware that the world is a horrible place and that it's our job to make it a better one and I've always had hope that this possible, but right now I'm at that place that's making me go: What the hell is the point of anything anymore? Because the truth is, we like to think that we've come so far but we haven't. We totally haven't. We're still horrible, selfish, misogynistic, indoctrinated, racist bastards.

I DON'T WANT TO LIVE ON THIS PLANET ANYMORE!
